Decommissioning Consultant

Mission Overview:

Keystone Solutions is seeking a skilled consultant for a critical project involving the decommissioning of an ADABAS/Natural database environment. This consultancy mission will take place at a client site, where you will play a vital role in the digital transformation efforts of our client, focusing on modernizing processes and enhancing operational support.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze existing legacy processes and interpret data objects accurately.
• Develop technical modules for data extraction, transformation, replication, and validation towards a new Linux platform.
• Ensure the BS2000 environment and the Linux environment function in parallel and as synchronously as possible.
• Test and document necessary components to make existing data and new data streams reliably available on the new platform.
• Conduct testing and validation, including technical test scenarios, source and target data comparisons, reconciliation checks, and documentation of test results and corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of the BS2000 mainframe environment, particularly Natural and ADABAS.
• Ability to work with limited documentation and analyze existing programs, jobs, objects, and data streams independently.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work due to the critical nature of the data.
• Proactive approach to identifying missing information, signaling risks, and proposing solutions.
• Ability to prioritize tasks within a complex environment with multiple databases and technical dependencies.
• Test-oriented mindset to ensure data is transferred correctly, completely, timely, and reliably.
