Mission Overview:

We are looking for a Functional Analyst specializing in Cobol to support the redesign of an employee pension rights allocation program, currently managed by a Tuxedo/Cobol application, transitioning to a new integrated solution within our Java ecosystem. As a successful candidate, you will perform these responsibilities as a consultant for Keystone Solutions at the client site.

The analyst will:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory existing Cobol programs and their uses.
  • Analyze and document existing Cobol programs.
  • Analyze and document the relevant data models.
  • Propose, in coordination with Java architects and analysts, a Java version of these Cobol programs.
  • Propose and evaluate tools and conversion strategies, focusing on reusability and extension of existing Java programs and calculation rules.
  • Develop a testing strategy.
  • Propose a complete roadmap with dates and increments for the solution deployment and gradual migration.
  • Oversee the migration phase, ensuring operations run smoothly, managing risks, and adhering to deadlines.

We aim for a complete decommissioning of the Cobol application by May 2026.

Requirements:

The candidate must have:

  • In-depth practical knowledge of Cobol.
  • Practical knowledge of transaction management middleware like Tuxedo or CICS.
  • Familiarity with the Java ecosystem: Java language, J2EE stack.
  • Active knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong experience as an analyst.
  • Ability to develop test scenarios.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge of Jira.
  • Experience in similar conversion projects.

The candidate should be autonomous, structured, and well-organized.
They must communicate clearly with various stakeholders.
They should be proactive and persistent, yet pragmatic and results-oriented.
