Senior IT Finance Controller Consultant

Mission Overview:

This is a consultancy mission at a client site, where you will represent Keystone Solutions as an IT Finance Controller. As a Keystone Solutions consultant, you will be hired to work on client projects, bringing your expertise to dynamic environments and contributing to the success of our clients.

Mission Context:

Within the IT organization of the client, the IT Finance Controller plays a key role in ensuring financial visibility, control, and coordination between the IT department and the finance function. The IT department operates as a shared service hub supporting several entities within the group as well as external partners. Financial management of IT activities involves multiple stakeholders, cross-entity cost allocations, and complex cost structures related to technology services, infrastructure, software, and external providers. The main objective of this role is to ensure financial transparency, accurate forecasting, and disciplined cost management of IT activities, while acting as a bridge between technical teams and finance stakeholders. The position requires someone capable of understanding operational realities behind financial data, translating technical information into financial insights, and ensuring that commitments, invoices, and forecasts are properly tracked and reported. In the short term, the priority is to ensure operational continuity of IT financial controlling activities. In the longer term, the role will also contribute to improving financial processes, governance, and cost transparency within the IT organization. All responsibilities are carried out under Keystone Solutions’ consultancy model.

Function Description:

• The Senior IT Finance Controller will be responsible for supporting and managing the financial activities related to IT operations and projects.

• Financial Planning & Forecasting
  • Prepare and maintain financial forecasts for IT activities throughout the year
  • Contribute to the periodic forecasting cycles (multiple forecasts per year)
  • Support the preparation of the annual IT budget
  • Anticipate future costs based on current commitments, contracts, and operational needs
  • Analyze variances between forecast, budget, and actual costs
• Financial Monitoring & Cost Control
  • Ensure visibility over all IT-related financial commitments
  • Monitor operational and project-related IT costs
  • Track and analyze financial performance of IT services and activities
  • Support the classification and allocation of costs across different categories
• Purchase Orders & Commitments Management
  • Create and manage Purchase Orders (POs) related to IT activities
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of financial commitments
  • Maintain visibility over committed versus invoiced costs
  • Verify alignment between contractual commitments and financial records
  • Support the improvement of purchasing discipline and documentation standards

Language Requirements:

• Dutch: is a plus
• French: Fluent
• English: Fluent

Education:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance

Telework:

• Expectation: 50% on site & 50% homeworking

Required Experience / Knowledge:

• 15 years' relevant experience in Finance
• Technical experience (mandatory):
  • Strong experience in financial controlling, financial analysis, or financial management
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasts, and cost monitoring
  • Contract management
  • Good understanding of accounting principles
  • Excel
  • Accounting and financial reporting
• Technical experience (preferable):
  • Exposure to ISO 9001
• Business experience (preferable):
  • Experience in IT environment
