Position Overview:
The Administrative Hearing Officer plays a mission critical role in ensuring fairness and due process within the CNMI Department of Labor. This position presides over formal administrative hearings, reviews labor related disputes, permit denials, and administrative claims, and issues legally sound decisions. The role supports labor justice in the Western Pacific while serving the public in a stable government position with long term security and full benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
Preside over administrative hearings and pre hearing conferences.
Rule on motions and evidentiary matters in accordance with applicable regulations.
Draft and issue binding administrative orders with legal accuracy and clarity.
Hear appeals as assigned and provide procedural and legal guidance to involved parties.
Collaborate with CNMI Department of Labor leadership on case disposition and policy matters.
Maintain strict impartiality while navigating complex labor regulations unique to CNMI.
Qualifications:
Education:
Juris Doctor degree from an accredited institution required.
Experience:
Minimum of five years of legal or administrative experience as an attorney, judge, or equivalent role.
Licensure:
Bar membership not required.
Requirements:
Official transcripts and criminal clearance required.
Compensation & Benefits:

Exempt position with a temporarily reduced schedule due to Monday austerity measures, with full forty hour operations returning.
