Capital Project Manager – Mining & Process Plant Projects

We are seeking 1–2 highly experienced Capital Project Managers in Kolwezi, DRC with strong mine-site and process plant experience to lead capital projects from concept through execution and commissioning.

This role sits at a senior level and requires full ownership of project outcomes, including technical, commercial, and governance responsibilities.

Role Overview

The Capital Project Manager will take full accountability for the delivery of sustaining and expansionary capital projects across a mining operation. Projects are primarily process plant–related, spanning electrical, civil, and SMPP disciplines, with capital values ranging from USD 0.5M to USD 35M.

Key Responsibilities

• Advance capital projects from concept development to commissioning and handover

• Develop and manage:

  • Scope of Work (SOWs)

  • Bills of Quantities (BOQs)

  • Project execution strategies

• Manage commercial aspects including contractor engagement, cost control, and variation management

• Prepare investment memos and business cases for executive-level approval

• Present project proposals and progress updates to the Executive Leadership Team

• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards

• Coordinate across multiple disciplines (Electrical, Civil, SMPP) and stakeholders

• Maintain strong governance, reporting, and risk management throughout the project lifecycle

Minimum Requirements

• Proven experience as a Capital Project Manager within a mining and/or mineral processing environment

• Demonstrated ability to deliver process plant projects from concept to commissioning

• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including business case development

• Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering and construction scopes

• Confident communicator with the ability to engage and present to senior executives

• Strong ownership mindset and accountability for outcomes

Engagement Details

• Roster Options:

  • 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off, or 

    4 weeks on / 2 weeks off 

• Engagement Duration: Approx. 12 months
