Projects Materials Controller

Location: DRC (Site-Based, Rotation)
Employment Type: Contract 12-month

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Projects Materials Controller to support our client's project operations by managing the full lifecycle of materials—from procurement support through to site storage, tracking, and distribution.

About the Role

You will be responsible for ensuring that all project materials are available on time, accurately tracked, and properly stored, supporting smooth project execution and preventing delays caused by shortages or mismanagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, store, and distribute materials in line with project and safety standards
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material tracking systems
  • Monitor stock levels and prevent shortages or overstocking
  • Coordinate with project and procurement teams to forecast material requirements
  • Align material deliveries with project schedules and milestones
  • Liaise with suppliers to track deliveries, expedite orders, and resolve issues
  • Ensure proper documentation of materials, certifications, and inventory movements
  • Support reporting and identify opportunities for process improvement

Requirements:

  • Degree in Business Management, Logistics, or related field
  • Experience in materials control, inventory, or logistics (project or mining environment preferred)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings or specifications
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Fluency in English and French (essential)
  • Previous expat experience in Africa advantageous
