Project Cost Controller

Location: DRC (Site-Based, Rotation)
Employment Type: Contract 12-Month

We are seeking an experienced Project Cost Controller to support our client's mining operations by managing project budgets, tracking costs, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across a portfolio of projects.

About the Role

Reporting to the Projects Control (Services) Manager, you will be responsible for monitoring project costs, commitments, and forecasts, ensuring financial discipline and visibility across both Capex and Opex projects.

This role requires strong attention to detail, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced mining environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control project budgets, expenditures, and forecasts
  • Develop and maintain monthly project cost reports
  • Track commitments and ensure alignment with approved budgets
  • Analyse cost estimates and forecasts from contractors and suppliers
  • Identify and escalate cost variances and risks
  • Manage and track the financial impact of project changes
  • Ensure all cost data is accurately recorded and reported
  • Support preparation and review of project cost estimates and schedules
  • Maintain consistency in cost control processes across projects

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business
  • Minimum 5–10 years' experience in cost control or project accounting
  • Experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industry
  • Strong understanding of project cost management (Capex & Opex)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Previous expat experience in Africa advantageous
