Mechanical Fitter

Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fitter with mining experience to join our expatriate workforce. The role involves maintaining, repairing, and installing mechanical equipment critical to mining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical equipment
• Work on crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, and heavy mining machinery
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose faults and perform breakdown repairs efficiently
• Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Ensure all work complies with safety and operational standards
• Assist with equipment shutdowns and planned maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate job records and maintenance reports
• Support and train local workforce where required

Minimum Requirements

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent
• Minimum 5–8 years' experience in mining or heavy industry
• Proven experience working on mining equipment and processing plants
• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Experience working in remote or site-based environments

Preferred Requirements

• Experience in African mining operations
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
• Welding or fabrication experience (advantageous)
