Job Title:  Information Security Engineer

Job Description:

The Information Security Engineer role is part of the security team responsible for safeguarding the enterprise infrastructure and information across domestic and international organizational holdings. This role involves the implementation, maintenance, and configuration of key enterprise security initiatives. A strong focus is placed on managing and migrating Palo Alto and Checkpoint firewalls, a niche skill set with limited available resources.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement, maintain, and configure enterprise security solutions.

• Manage and migrate Checkpoint and Palo Alto Firewalls.

• Configure and maintain additional security technologies, including:

  • Zscalar Proxies

  • Sourcefire and Tipping Point IDS/IPS

  • Cisco ASA and Site-to-Site VPNs

  • Ivanti Pulse Secure VPN appliances

• Utilize management tools like Provider-1, Check Point Smart Center, and Panorama for Palo Alto.

• Follow network security best practices and ensure secure infrastructure operation.
  

Qualifications:

• 7+ years of industry experience, with 5+ years in SOC operations.

• Mandatory experience and in-depth knowledge of Palo Alto and Checkpoint Firewalls.

• Proven experience with Palo Alto Firewall migrations.

• Proficiency in firewall implementation and management.

• Solid understanding of OSI model, TCP/IP protocols, and networking fundamentals.

• Strong background in network security best practices.

Preferred Qualifications (Good to Have):

• Working experience with Zscalar Proxies

• Experience with Sourcefire and Tipping Point IDS/IPS

• Hands-on knowledge of Cisco ASA

• Exposure to Ivanti Pulse Secure VPN appliances

• Relevant certifications:

  • CCSE/CCSM (Check Point)

  • PCSAE/PCSFE (Palo Alto)

  • ZTCA (Zero Trust Certified Associate)
