NOC Engineer

 Job Description:

Job Summary:

The NOC Engineer will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting our network systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Network Monitoring: Continuously monitor network systems using various tools to identify and resolve issues promptly.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network problems, including hardware and software issues, to minimize downtime.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks, such as software updates, hardware checks, and system optimizations.
  • Incident Management: Respond to network incidents, manage escalations, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on network performance, incidents, and trends for management review.
  • Security: Implement and monitor network security measures to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for network configurations, troubleshooting steps, and operational procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams and departments to ensure seamless network operations and support.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices and proactively suggest improvements to enhance network performance and reliability.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Project Support: Assist in network-related projects, including planning, implementation, and testing.
  • Training: Provide training and support to junior team members and other staff as needed.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • NOC Engineer position with 2-4 years of experience
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other network protocols.
  • Proficiency in using network monitoring tools like Nagios, Zabbix, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Good To Have: (Certifications or Skill Set)

  • CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Other relevant certifications in networking or security.
