Draughtsman - Pretoria

Introduction

A hands-on detailing role for someone who understands balustrades, sundry metalwork, and (advantageously) structural steel. The role focuses on producing accurate technical drawings and supporting project execution through detailed design and coordination.

Duties & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication Drawings

• Produce detailed 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD
• Prepare cutting lists and material schedules

Balustrade & Metalwork Detailing

• Full detailing of balustrades, gates, staircases, and sundry metalwork items

Coordination

• Liaise with project managers, workshop supervisors, and installation teams throughout the project lifecycle

Revisions & Compliance

• Manage drawing revisions based on client and engineer feedback
• Ensure specifications and requirements are met

Quotations

• Assist with occasional preparation of quotations as required

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements (What We Need)

Experience

• Proven experience in a draughting role
• Balustrade and sundry metalwork detailing experience is essential

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD (required)
• Autodesk Inventor or similar software is advantageous

Structural Steel (Advantageous)

• Experience in structural steel detailing is a strong added benefit

Qualifications

• Qualification in Drafting, Engineering, or a related field preferred
• A strong portfolio may be accepted in place of formal qualifications
