The Environment, Health, and Safety Assistant Manager is expected to perform tasks quickly and efficiently, with a high level of professionalism and a positive attitude. It is expected that the Environment, Health, and Safety Assistant Manager is capable and able to lead and manage the entire scope of EHS, which includes ambient air quality, ambient water quality, hazardous materials management, waste management and office hazards.

The Environment, Health, and Safety Assistant Manager will train, and evaluate his/her team members; develop, review, and improve policies, systems, and procedures related to EHS. He/she shall also assist and provide strategy in the development and enforcement of the team budget for the year; delegate tasks and track progress on upcoming and ongoing projects; workforce planning and management; and planning and organizing events, which may include training sessions, interviews, new hire orientations, and policy or procedure updates relevant to EHS.

  •  Oversee and manage overall general safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with corporate and sector policies and local and country-specific Environmental Protection Agency and Occupational Safety and Health Governmental rules and regulations
  •  Work with various businesses and partners to create value through the development of innovative solutions to environmental, social, and governance challenges
  •  Oversee green and sustainable development across all sites
  • Champions corporate and sector EHS initiatives and processes across all KMC Sites
  •  Lead the operations in setting direction and expectations within EHS function
  •  Strategize implementation and execution of Environmental, Health & Safety Framework and track/monitor improvement plans as well as identify and resolve open compliance issues
  • Undertake regular inspections of facilities to pinpoint and evaluate potential hazards, and meticulously assess risks associated with machinery, chemicals, and working practices
  •  Assist in compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and other safety assessments to support Environmental, Health, and Safety management
  •  Communicate with senior management on trends and government activity, including new and proposed legislation
  •  Advise and collaborate with senior leadership and managers on significant environmental and employee health and safety issues
  •  Co-Develops and executes programs with stakeholders to prevent Workplace illnesses and safety through in-depth examination of the work environment and through a comprehensive assessment of the workplace or HIRA (Hazard Identification Risk Assessment) to identify and control potential health and Workplace safety hazards and risks

SUBMISSION OF REPORTS

  • Budget, expense, consumption analysis, and reporting
  •  Monthly submission of supplies consumption and inventory, expense report, and other reports
  •  Weekly reports submission
  •  Able to provide 99% accuracy of reports; the Content of the report is accurate and relevant.
  • Incident report to be provided within 24hours.
  • Accurate recording of the MOM is to be provided within 2 days after the meeting.
  •  99% accuracy of forwarded monthly client charges

MENTORSHIP

  •  Manage and coach direct reports, safety officers, and company nurses
  •  Conduct one-on-one coaching with direct reports
  •  Continuously train, evaluate performance, and take corrective actions when necessary
  •  Allocate the training schedule to the new admin
  •  Able to use time wisely by supervising and teaching the admin on-site
  •  Able to create strategies to reach goals

SERVICE DESK

  •  Follow ticket response format 100%
  • Ensure that 98% of admin tickets per week are attended to within SLA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in OSH management
  • Must be a registered nurse
  • DOLE Accredited OSH Practitioner
  • Proficient with spreadsheets and Microsoft applications
  •  Strong attention to detail and desire to follow procedure
  • Good decision-making and problem-solving skills

High customer service orientation and the ability to effectively communicate

  •  High level of integrity, honesty, and judgment
  •  Ability to operate basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, and printers.
  • With advanced OSH training (LCM, SPAT, Emergency Management or equivalent)
  • Skilled in conducting training on environmental, health, and safety procedures
  •  Ability to conduct safety investigations and reports
  • Ability to prepare written reports on EHS
  • Ability to deal with people and high-level clients
  •  Interpersonal and Coordination Skills, including technical writing skills
