I.                POSITION PURPOSE:

The Data Lead is the strategist and overseer of the data migration process, responsible for ensuring a smooth and accurate transition of data from legacy systems to new HR solution (Workday HCM). This role ensures data integrity, compliance, and stakeholder alignment throughout the migration lifecycle.

   

  • MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITY:                                                                                         

                KEY MEASUREMENT:      

    ·       Data Migration Leadership: Plan, coordinate, and supervise all data migration activities, ensuring a seamless transition from legacy systems to the new Global HRIS solution (Workday HCM). Define overall strategy, set timelines, and coordinate resources.

    ·       Data Mapping and Strategy: Prepare and organize workshops to understand third-party data models, define the scope of data migration, and establish data mapping rules and strategies in collaboration with functional leads and regional HR teams.

    ·       Risk and Issue Management: Identify and manage data migration risks and issues, maintain a risk register, and regularly review it with the System & Integration Lead.

    ·       Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the data migration process, including partnering with HRIS team leads to synchronize actions and planning.

    ·       Data Conversion Strategy: Create a comprehensive data conversion strategy document that outlines the approach, timelines, and key considerations for data migration.

    ·       Data Security and Privacy: Establish and enforce data security and privacy protocols throughout the migration process, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

    • Strong understanding of data migration, mapping, and conversion processes.
    • Experience with HRIS platforms and third-party data models.
    • Familiarity with risk management and stakeholder engagement in large-scale projects.
    • Knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance requirements.

     

    II.              MATRIX ORGANISATION / FUNCTIONAL LEAD
    • Reporting to the Technical Lead
    • Collaborates with HRIS project management team, data specialists, and regional HR teams.

     

    III.             PROBLEM SOLVING:
    • Ability to troubleshoot complex data migration issues and identify root causes.
    • Proactive in managing risks and recommending improvements.
    • Skilled at balancing multiple priorities and stakeholder needs.
    IV.            INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
    • Strong leadership and communication skills for engaging diverse stakeholders.
    • Collaborative approach to cross-functional teamwork.

I.                QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in data migration, data management, or related roles.
  • Proven experience leading data migration projects and teams.
  • Expertise in data mapping, conversion, and risk management.
  • Experience with Workday platform and data security protocols.
  • Authorized to work lawfully in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience with multicultural teams and international environments is a plus.
