We’re looking for a hybrid Instructional Designer who is also a technical builder who can design training experiences AND build simple tools using AI and low-code platforms.
This is NOT a traditional ID role. You will use AI daily to “vibe-code,” generate and debug simple code, build micro-apps, and develop tools that reinforce training (e.g., performance trackers, decision flows, coaching widgets).
You’ll turn messy processes and tribal knowledge into clean workflows, apps, and micro-learning systems.

1. Performance Consulting
- Conduct needs analyses and identifies root performance issues.
- Convert interviews and workflows into behavior-based requirements.
- Build workflow maps, role clarity documents, SOPs, and scorecards.
2. Instructional Design
- Design micro-learning using Adult Learning Theory, Merrill’s Principles & Kirkpatrick.
- Build scenarios, simulations, decision paths, and workflow-based lessons.
- Create reinforcement and evaluation systems tied to real job performance.
3. AI-Enabled Development
- Use AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) to co-build training assets.
- Convert SME conversations into clear workflows, job aids, and micro-lessons.
- Build structured prompts, simulations, and AI-powered coaching bots.
4. App Building & Light Coding (Must-Have or Fast Learner)
- Use low-code/no-code platforms (AppSheet, App Builder, AI Studio) to build micro-tools.
- “Vibe-code” with AI to generate and refine simple app logic and code.
- Use VS Code for basic debugging or refinement of AI-generated snippets.
- Work with databases like Supabase, Airtable, or Sheets.
- Embed tools inside Google Sites, SharePoint, or internal hubs.
5. Documentation & Workflow Clarity
- Create SOPs, checklists, job aids, manager guides, and onboarding pathways.
- Visualize processes through workflow diagrams and system maps.
6. Learning Ecosystem Development
- Build training hubs using Google Sites, SharePoint, or Notion.
- Organize content for usability, low cognitive load, and scalability.
- Integrate apps, tools, AI modules, and micro-lessons seamlessly.
7. Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with consultants, SMEs, and AI engineers.
- Support rollout and adoption of new systems and tools.
- Translate operational decisions into clear training and reinforcement systems.
- 3+ years in Instructional Design, Learning Architecture, or Performance Consulting
- Strong grounding in Adult Learning Theory, Merrill’s Principles & Kirkpatrick
- Proven ability to simplify complexity and map workflows
- Strong writing and documentation skills
- Daily comfort using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
- Technical aptitude + willingness to use AI for coding and app building
- Experience with at least 1–2 platforms:
- Experience building SOPs and system documentation
- Familiarity with low-code, no-code, or AI-assisted app development
- Experience embedding training inside apps or daily tools
- Understanding of operational environments (construction, trades, trucking, insurance, sales, etc.)
- Ability to measure training effectiveness and tie it to behavior/business metrics
- Experience using Supabase, Airtable, or Sheets as databases
