Our Inchcape Digital team is central to our strategy and is responsible for delivering world class data, digital, technology and cyber services and solutions to our regions and markets. We have big ambitions and as an important member of our Digital Delivery Centre team in the Philippines you will get to work globally and across diverse, challenging and customer facing programs.
 
Inchcape is looking for a Lead Data Engineer. We are looking for someone who has delivered complex, enterprise grade data solutions who is detail-oriented, passionate, and has a keen business sense coupled with an entrepreneurial attitude.
 
The successful candidate will combine strong technical abilities with leadership skills to deliver business value in a fast-paced, collaborative development environment. They will be self-driven, capable of effective collaboration with different technical and non-technical stakeholders, an experienced mentor, a steward of best practices, and seek to deliver successfully against high operational standards.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Create and build robust data structures to support end user's analysis and decision making across multiple business verticals. This includes both end-to-end architecting and business solutioning.
  • Collaborate with end users and peers to understand requirements, formulate use cases, and then translate into an effective technical solution
  • Manage a team of engineers implementing data pipelines and system integration back end services; building and maintaining data infrastructure to process and synchronize across a variety of data domains and source systems
  • Work with team leads, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data infrastructure meets business needs.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products.
  • Effectively communicate and interact with business and technical personnel in solving complex data related business and technical problems.
  • Monitor data warehouse eco-system and identify opportunities to make enhancements.
  • Ensure data processes run and complete on a timely basis to ensure business continuity.
  • Adhere to timelines and excel in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • Drive data best practices and contribute to development of overall data strategy and roadmap.
  • Foster a sense of inspired curiosity within the team and support the development of team members as technical professionals
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and direct technical contribution to the development of a data pipeline that incorporates structured and unstructured data and prepares it for modeling and reporting for Inchcape business
  • Build infrastructure that achieves reliability and accuracy and integrates seamlessly with data science tools and user-facing applications
  • Work on a cross-functional agile team that is responsive to the needs of the business and contributes to the overall data, bi & analytics strategy
  • Contribute to the development of the organization by sharing knowledge with peers both within the team and across the organization and providing mentorship to help develop data engineering expertise within our teams
  • Keep up-to-date with relevant technologies in order to maintain and enhance platform functionality
  • Contribute across the software stack, including application development, infrastructure, continuous deployment, and improving our developer ecosystem.
  • Participate in formulation of wider Data, BI & Analytics strategy and roadmap; Support sustained innovation in both technical solutions and methods of delivering data solutions and appropriate documentation standards.

Minimum qualifications

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of Data Engineering Lead or management experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure is a must, you should have built products at scale on the platform ideally using data factory / data bricks etc…
  • 5+ years of experience with data warehousing, BI, and reporting tools
  • Degree Holder of any related course/s
  • Ability to balance the demands of multiple projects while pushing the intellectual envelope in search of solutions to complex problems
  • Experience demonstrating breadth, creativity, and innovation
  • Experience in supporting internal stakeholders, with a proven track record of customer ex
