The primary role of the Purchasing Agent is to support the operations department by efficiently managing and processing purchase requisitions, ensuring that all supplies, materials, and equipment needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

  • Office – Processes and submits paperwork, creates and maintains organized files, identifies and resolves any discrepancies in files and records in a timely manner. Reports incorrect or inefficient office processes. Uses office equipment supplies correctly. Judgment – Uses procedures, and/or guides to make good choices. Uses data and facts in order to make day-to-day decisions and involves others as needed. Recognizes what might be a problem and informs those who can correct it.   • Proven experience as a purchasing agent or in a similar role.
  • Strong working knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques.
  • Good understanding of supply chain procedures.
  • Hands-on experience with purchasing software.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma (or Equivalent)
  • Proficient in Excel and Word (Microsoft Dynamic Preferred) Types 50 Words Per Minute 
  • Work Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Physical Demands Visua ly verifies information, often in sma l print. Reads information, often in smal print. Enters and locates information on a computer. Creates documents, reports, etc., using a writing instrument (such as a pencil or pen) or computer. Communicates effectively in person or by using telecommunications equipment. This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
