The Purchasing Coordinator will play a critical role in supporting the Director of Supply Chain to oversee and streamline global supply chain operations. This position requires active engagement with international partners and detailed management of purchasing activities to ensure efficient supply chain execution.
This position offers the unique opportunity to engage directly with diverse international markets such as China, Indonesia, Vietnam, and India. It provides a dynamic work environment where you can significantly impact global operations and develop expertise in international supply chain management.
- Partner directly with the Director of Supply Chain to manage daily operations and implement strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate communications and operations with international agents and vendors, adjusting to multiple time zones.
- Regularly update and analyze Excel spreadsheets for tracking orders, managing production timelines, and overseeing logistics.
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of supply chain data and documentation to prevent discrepancies.
- Resolve any issues related to orders, shipments, or reports promptly and efficiently.
- Utilize and adapt communication strategies to engage effectively with global partners, particularly those for whom English is a second language.
- Master internal systems for enhanced support of supply chain processes and accurate reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential for managing complex datasets.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) or a similar ERP system is highly desirable.
- Demonstrable ability to learn new software and operational tools quickly.
- Exceptional attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities in English, with skills in communicating effectively with non-native speakers.
- Prior experience in working with international teams or in global supply chain roles is preferred.
- Capability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong sense of accountability.
- A background in purchasing, supply chain, logistics, or operations is advantageous.
- Familiarity with manufacturing and production processes, especially in an overseas context.
- Experience managing cross-cultural relationships and accommodating various time zones in professional settings.
