About Via

Via is a New York City-based technology company, founded in 2012, that turns traditional public transportation into smart, data-driven, on-demand networks. Its TransitTech platform covers microtransit, paratransit, student transportation, transit planning (Remix) and rider tools (Citymapper). Via works with hundreds of cities and 700+ public and private partners across more than 30 countries, and became a publicly listed company (NYSE: VIA) in September 2025.

About the team

You will join Via's dedicated team in the Philippines, hosted and employed by KMC Solutions. You will work directly with Via's People Team, following their processes and systems, and keep hours aligned with their business day.

Role overview

The HR Operations Specialist (Compensation and Benefits) provides back-end processing support to Via's People Team, taking manual, time-consuming work off the team. Your time splits across benefits administration (30%), compliance and audit (30%), data reconciliation (20%) and payroll (20%).

This is not an employee-facing role. The People Team leads handle employee conversations; you help them resolve concerns and inquiries faster by quickly gathering and validating data from Via's internal systems and reports. It suits someone accurate, organized and adaptable, who follows established processes, works independently, and shifts smoothly when priorities change.

•         2–3 years of experience in HR operations, benefits, payroll, or a data-heavy administrative or operations support role.

•         Experience handling confidential information with discretion.

•         Clear written and spoken English for working with US-based leads, other departments and vendors.

•         Able to report onsite 1–2 days per week under a hybrid setup.

Core competencies

•         Collaborative: works smoothly with stakeholders across departments to get data, answers and corrections.

•         Detail-oriented, with the big picture in view: gets each task exactly right while understanding how it affects payroll, benefits, compliance and the employee experience.

•         Flexible, adaptable and agile: shifts focus immediately when urgent or critical issues arise, without losing track of open items.

•         Process discipline: follows SOPs consistently and raises gaps instead of improvising.

•         Ownership: works independently across time zones and closes loops without being chased.

•         Discretion: treats employee personal, tax and benefits data as strictly confidential.

•         Major advantage: experience providing HR operations or payroll support services to US companies or US clients.

•         Experience with ADP and/or Workday, or equivalent payroll and HRIS platforms (e.g., UKG, Paylocity, BambooHR, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM).

•         Hands-on benefits administration experience, including carrier portals, enrollment files or discrepancy reports.

•         Exposure to compliance audits or data reconciliation across multiple HR or payroll systems.

•         Familiarity with US HR processes such as benefits enrollment, payroll tax notices and Form I-9.

This is not a senior or subject-matter-expert role. Strong fundamentals and relevant, transferable experience matter more than specific tools.

What success looks like

•         First 30 days: learns Via's systems, trackers and SOPs, and completes assigned tasks accurately with review.

•         By 90 days: owns carrier enrollments, benefits reconciliations and tax notice tracking independently, and turns around lead data requests quickly.

•         By 6 months: the People Team spends noticeably less time on manual admin, data discrepancies are caught and resolved routinely, and recurring tasks are documented.
