Designers at this level work with limited guidance from a civil structural lead to execute the duties and
responsibilities listed below using the appropriate tools and established procedures. While assuming responsibility
for moderate design tasks they are still expected to communicate regularly with the civil structural lead in order to
minimize rework.

  • 3D Modeling.
  • Drawing generation, markup and cleanup.
  • Review and markup equipment vendor drawings.
  • Dimensional and consistency checks on all deliverables.
  • Fieldwork (gather information and hand sketches)
  • Data input for lists. (Drawing Index, bill of material…)
  • Attends model reviews and project meetings.
  • General office work such as making copies, attending meetings etc.

GOALS:

  • Firm understanding of advanced areas of design. (unit layout, stress, common processes, fluid phases etc.)
  • Well-rounded understanding of other disciplines.
  • Become more self-sufficient.
  • Mastery of technical tools and work processes.

  • Good understanding of fabrication and erection requirements and activities.
  • Minimum 10 years of industry related experience with 8 years of design experience.
  • Can read and modify all standard deliverables.
  • Experience designing to support piping, equipment and foundations with minimal assistance.
  • Accustomed to working with other discipline groups to establish a workable design.
  • Proficient with current releases of AutoCAD.
  • Proficient with 3D software, and 3D modeling.
  • Proficient with Autodesk Recap software and Scan data.
  • Proficient with MS Word and Excel software.
