As the company's Lead Tax Accountant, you are going to be responsible for the overall tax compliance for a set of entities and supporting the business in navigating through the dynamic landscape of Philippine taxation. You will work across multiple departments and liaise with the BIR to advocate for KMC's behalf.

  • Prepare and File Tax Returns: Accurately prepare and file tax returns for individuals, corporations, and partnerships in compliance with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) regulations.

  • Ensure Tax Compliance: Monitor and ensure clients’ adherence to Philippine tax laws, including Income Tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), and other local taxes, while meeting all BIR deadlines.

  • Tax Planning and Advisory: Provide strategic tax planning services to clients, offering solutions to minimize liabilities and maximize tax benefits while complying with Philippine tax laws.

  • Handle Tax Audits and Investigations: Assist clients in responding to BIR tax audits, requests for tax information, and other government investigations, ensuring the accuracy of submitted documents.

  • Research and Update Tax Laws: Stay current with changes in Philippine tax legislation, BIR rulings, and circulars to provide up-to-date advice and ensure compliance.

  • Financial Reporting and Tax Adjustments: Review and analyze financial statements to ensure proper tax treatment, and recommend adjustments to optimize tax positions for clients.

  • Liaise with BIR and Other Authorities: Act as the primary point of contact between clients and tax authorities, ensuring smooth communication and addressing any inquiries from the BIR.

  • Maintain Confidentiality and Documentation: Ensure the secure and proper filing of all tax-related documents and client records, adhering to privacy laws and industry best practices in the Philippines.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy or Finance: A degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field is required, with strong knowledge in taxation, financial accounting, and business law.

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) License: Must be a licensed CPA in the Philippines, demonstrating expertise in accounting principles, tax laws, and financial reporting.

  • In-depth Knowledge of Philippine Tax Laws: Familiarity with the Philippine Tax Code, BIR regulations, and tax filing requirements, including VAT, income tax, and other relevant taxes.

  • Experience in Tax Preparation and Compliance: At least 5 years of professional experience in tax accounting, including preparing tax returns, financial statements, and handling BIR audits.

  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex tax issues, identify tax-saving opportunities, and develop effective solutions for clients.

  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to communicate effectively with clients, BIR representatives, and colleagues, with a focus on professionalism and client service.
