The Data Engineer is responsible for building and managing systems that collect, store, and organize data so it can be easily used across the business. This role includes working with the Snowflake data platform to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and accessible for reporting, analysis, and decision-making.
· Blackout Period for annual leave in peak periods. This will be discussed at the time of the interview.
· Office Attire: Smart casual.
· Monday to Friday. Occasional out of hours when required.
· Travel required interstate/overseas as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain data pipelines that move data from different sources into a central data platform.
- Use Snowflake to store, manage, and organize data for easy access and use.
- Prepare and structure data so it can be used for reporting and analysis.
- Monitor data systems and resolve issues to ensure smooth operations.
- Improve the performance and efficiency of data processes.
- Ensure data is secure and follows company policies and standards.
- Work closely with teams such as analytics, IT, and business units to understand data needs.
- Maintain clear documentation of data processes and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience working with data systems or databases.
- Strong knowledge of SQL (data querying).
- Hands-on experience with Snowflake or similar cloud-based data platforms.
Skills
- Experience working with Snowflake as a primary data platform.
- Ability to handle large volumes of data.
- Basic programming knowledge (e.g., Python or similar).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
