The Senior Network Engineer is a key member of the global infrastructure team, responsible for the stability, performance, and incident response of our datacenter and GPU cloud networking environments.
The role acts as the primary point of contact during the CET night shift, supporting enterprise customers and internal teams by troubleshooting and resolving complex networking issues. This is not an entry-level or NOC role; the position requires proven, hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting production datacenter networks using BGP, EVPN/VXLAN, and IPv6, as well as the ability to work independently and communicate effectively with global stakeholders.

Incident Response & Escalation
· Act as the primary escalation point for all networking-related incidents during the CET night shift
· Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex incidents impacting GPU cloud and datacenter environments
· Perform in-depth fault isolation and root cause analysis for routing and connectivity issues
· Provide clear, timely updates to internal teams and stakeholders during active incidents
· Ensure incidents are resolved in line with operational expectations and service commitments
Datacenter Routing & Overlay Networking
· Operate and troubleshoot large-scale datacenter network fabrics using:
o BGP (underlay and external routing)
o EVPN / VXLAN (overlay networks)
· Diagnose issues related to routing convergence, reachability, and performance
· Support highly available, performance-sensitive GPU workloads
IPv6 & Network Architecture
· Support and maintain dual-stack and IPv6-only network environments
· Troubleshoot IPv6 routing, addressing, and policy-related issues
· Ensure consistent behaviour across IPv4 and IPv6 network paths
Vendor & Platform Operations
· Operate within a multi-vendor network environment, with deep hands-on responsibility for at least one of:
o Cumulus Linux
o Juniper
o H3C / HPE
· Work across vendor platforms to ensure interoperability and operational stability
· Experience with Arista networks is considered an advantage
Team Collaboration & Training
· Work as part of a distributed, international infrastructure and engineering team
· Collaborate closely with daytime engineering teams to ensure effective shift handovers
· Ensure clear handover notes and incident summaries are completed at the end of each shift
· Contribute to internal documentation, runbooks, and operational procedures
· The working language of the company is English. German language skills are also welcomed
Skills & Experience
Essential
· Proven hands-on experience working in a production datacenter environment
· Demonstrable production-level troubleshooting experience with:
o BGP (Border Gateway Protocol)
o EVPN / VXLAN
o IPv6 (dual-stack and/or IPv6-only)
· Deep operational knowledge of at least one of the following platforms:
o Cumulus Linux
o Juniper
o H3C / HPE
· Strong written and verbal English communication skills
· Ability to remain calm, methodical, and decisive during high-severity incidents
· Strong documentation and handover habits
Preferred / Desirable
· Professional-level networking certifications (e.g. CCNP Datacenter, JNCIP, HCIP, or equivalent)
· Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible
· Basic scripting ability in Python, Perl, or Bash
· Familiarity with Linux server administration (Ubuntu/Debian)
· Basic understanding of firewall configuration and troubleshooting
· Experience supporting high-performance or GPU-based infrastructure
