The Collection Officer is responsible for managing and recovering debts from US clients. This role involves proactive communication with clients to ensure timely payment of outstanding balances, maintaining customer relationships while enforcing creditors' rights.

- Initiate contact with clients in the US to negotiate payment of outstanding debts in a diplomatic and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of all communication with clients, including detailed notes on the nature of discussions and payment agreements.
- Analyze client accounts and financial situations to propose solutions that are beneficial to both the client and the company.
- Collaborate with the legal department when necessary to address disputes or to escalate the collection process for delinquent accounts.
- Prepare and submit reports on the status of collections and accounts receivable for internal use.
- Stay informed of changes in collection laws and practices within the US to ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations.
- Proven experience as a Collection Officer or similar role, with a strong focus on collections and debt recovery.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to persuade and negotiate effectively.
- Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple accounts and priorities.
- Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- A thorough understanding of US debt collection laws and regulations.
- Experience in customer service or sales, particularly in a financial context, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to speak multiple languages, especially Spanish, can be advantageous in dealing with a diverse client base.
- Strong analytical skills to assess clients' financial records and propose realistic payment plans.
