Software Engineer Back-End (SAS)

Description:

As a senior BackEnd Software Engineer, you have over 5 years of experience in creating designs and

codes for back-end software applications :

- You comprehend the functional design, based on the functional specifications;

- You draw up the program structure based on the technical design;

- You create and execute test cases, and modify existing programs for production;

- You design-related changes to be updated in the design document;

- You conduct self & peer code review;

- You resolve the assigned incidents and defects and track to closure;

- You execute technical integration testing of the application in relation to interfacing applications.

Next to a proven experience in software development, you have the following core competencies:

Agile Methodologies, Analytical thinking, Collaborating, Eager to learn, Independent, Problem

solving, Result driven

Must-Have:

Proficiency in English

Mainframe and SAS knowledge is required

Nice to Have:

Scheduling and monitoring

Detailed Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior mainframe Software engineer with expertise in

SAS to join our dynamic team of Paycore & Branches.

Responsibilities:

- Develop, design, and maintain mainframe software applications, predominantly using SAS

programming language.

- Provide technical expertise and propose solutions to enhance our systems.

- Troubleshoot and resolve issues ensuring high availability of our applications.

- Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and

professional growth.

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a mainframe software engineer, specializing in SAS programming language.

- Strong expertise in developing, testing, and debugging SAS programs on mainframe systems.

- Familiarity with mainframe tools and utilities such as JCL, SDSF, ISPF,...

- Sound understanding of software development methodologies and best practices

- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with the team members

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications:

- SAS certification

- Dutch speaking

- experience with job scheduling (IWS)
