About the job Telecom Engineer DTR
We are on behalf of our client looking for a Telecom Engineer DTR for a project in Trondheim, Norway.
Responsibilities and tasks:
Participate in the Equinor M&M modification and maintenance contract, often as discipline responsible:
- Develop functional design solutions within and across disciplines
- Execute and coordinate technical procurement activities, including bulk MTO
- Handle engineering documentation, termination, and loop design
- Register systems for tagged items
- Conduct onshore/offshore field surveys
- Manage tag register as Package Responsible Engineer (PRE) or Discipline Task Responsible (DTR)
- Have detailed knowledge of telecom, including programs, documents, and technical details
- Handle supplier purchases
- Design control systems (e.g., ESDS, PSO, PCS)
- Specify, prepare, and update layouts, termination, and loop designs
- Update registers with new tags and documentation
- Prepare data sheets, documentation, and vendor follow-up for instrument/automation packages
- Prepare job cards
- Prepare MTO for bulk and tagged items
Qualifications and personal attributes:
- Bachelor, Master or other relevant education
- Min. 5 years of engineering experience with telecommunications on the Norwegian Continental Shelf, including Equinor's technical requirements and NORSOK standards
- Network design skills (fiber optic and network cabling) and installation experience
- Accurate, organized, service-minded, and able to work independently
- Strong teamworking skills, understanding of activity schedules, and ability to motivate others
- Initiative, flexibility, and hands-on management
- Specialist knowledge and collaboration skills
- Proficiency in project-specific software
- Available for work in Norway!!
- Good communicative skills in Norwegian and English
- Valid work permit in Norway (or being located within the EU)!
