About the job Director (Compliance)
Responsibilities:
- Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and internal controls
- Monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance
- Help conduct internal audits and improve internal processes
- Maintain and track risk registers and action plans
- Report major risks and issues to leadership
- Review contracts and agreements
- Advise on legal matters and help set corporate policies and procedure
- Ensure the Foundation meets requirements under laws like the Charities Act
- Keep track of regulatory changes and ensure timely filings and reports
- Inform leadership of important updates or risks related to compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in law, finance, accountancy, or similar
- 10+ years of relevant experience in compliance or legal work
- Industry certifications (e.g., ICA Diploma in Compliance) preferred
- Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
- Strong organization, analysis, and decision-making skills
- Skilled in legal research, negotiation, and communication
- Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
