About the job Director (Compliance)

Responsibilities:

  • Promote a strong culture of risk awareness and internal controls
  • Monitor policies and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Help conduct internal audits and improve internal processes
  • Maintain and track risk registers and action plans
  • Report major risks and issues to leadership
  • Review contracts and agreements
  • Advise on legal matters and help set corporate policies and procedure
  • Ensure the Foundation meets requirements under laws like the Charities Act
  • Keep track of regulatory changes and ensure timely filings and reports
  • Inform leadership of important updates or risks related to compliance

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in law, finance, accountancy, or similar
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in compliance or legal work
  • Industry certifications (e.g., ICA Diploma in Compliance) preferred
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is a plus
  • Strong organization, analysis, and decision-making skills
  • Skilled in legal research, negotiation, and communication
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint
