Senior Virtualization (VM) Engineer

An ideal candidate should be highly skilled and experienced Senior Virtualization Engineer to manage and optimize our virtualization environment . He will have deep expertise in VMware, vSphere, and related technologies, and will playing a critical role in designing,deploying, maintaining, and securing the virtual infrastructure that supports the banks critical applications and services.

Responsibilites:

• Will be responsible for Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level virtualization infrastructure, primarily VMware-based (vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN).
• Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of virtualized workloads.
• Should Collaborate with security, network, and application teams to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.
• Perform capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance tuning. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity solutions.
• Automate provisioning, monitoring, and management tasks using tools like PowerCLI, Ansible, or vRealize Automation. Evaluate, test, and recommend virtualization tools and technologies.
• Provide Level 3 support for virtualization-related incidents and requests.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for system architecture, configuration, and procedures.
• Participate in audits and compliance checks, providing technical insights and support. Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on best practices.

Requirements:

• Proven experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization architecture, storage, networking, and security
• Expertise with automation tools like PowerCLI, vRealize, or Ansible is desired, familiarity with Windows and Linux OS in virtual environments is good to have.
• Should have experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Zerto). Should have good understanding of cloud integration with hybrid virtual environments (AWS, Azure,etc.).
• Strong knowledge of banking IT compliance standards (PCI DSS, ISO 27001, etc.) is preferred. Experience in a banking or financial services IT environment is strongly preferred.
• 6+ years of experience in virtualization engineering or infrastructure roles.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP-DCV) or higher (VCAP/VCIX).
• ITIL Foundation or knowledge of ITIL processes, Microsoft or Linux certifications a plus.
