We are seeking a Finance & Administration Manager to lead Kuona’s financial, administrative, and office operations, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic support for decision-making. This role combines high-level technical execution with direct exposure to strategic initiatives, frequent collaboration with senior leadership, and the opportunity to build and improve processes in a scaling environment. The position also involves regular interaction with Mexican government agencies and presenting key financial information to international investors, so excellent professional presence and communication skills are essential.

As Finance & Administration Manager, you will own the integrity of our financial operations, ensure world-class compliance, and deliver the insights that drive our business forward. You’ll work directly with the executive team, influence key decisions, and help shape the infrastructure that supports Kuona’s expansion into new markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, ensuring compliance with Mexican NIF and US GAAP/IFRS.

  • Manage cash flow, reconciliations, vendor payments, and payroll, ensuring robust internal controls and liquidity.
    Coordinate with external accounting firms and auditors in multiple jurisdictions.

  • Develop and maintain financial forecasts, budgets, and profitability analyses in collaboration with the CEO and commercial team.

  • Manage contracts, renewals, and corporate legal processes.

  • Prepare financial reports and presentations for investors and the executive team.

  • Office Management: oversee all office-related operations, including vendor relationships, service contracts, supplies, and ensure the workspace remains compliant, organized, and fully functional.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.

  • Provide leadership to a growing team, including mentoring and developing junior finance or administrative staff as the function expands.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; CFA or certifications in financial modeling are a plus.

  • Minimum 4 years of progressive experience in finance and administration, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership capacity.

  • Proven track record in managing multi-entity or multinational financial operations.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial analysis tools.

  • Strong knowledge of Mexican accounting and tax regulations (NIF) and IFRS/GAAP for international operations.

  • Advanced English, both written and spoken.

  • Excellent professional presence and communication skills, with the ability to represent the company to government authorities and present effectively to investors.

  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment, with strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and adaptability.

  • This role requires going back and forth between spaces, so having a car is required.
