Herald API is hiring engineers to join their small but fast-growing team. Were looking for a teammate who is excited to take ownership of the problems we face today: designing an API that insurtech developers love, working directly with our customers to collect feedback and iterate, and building a scalable infrastructure that allows us to seamlessly plug in thousands of insurance products.

We know things change quickly at a startup our size. You're the right person for this role if you're also excited to figure out what challenges we should solve next and to lead us in solving them. We want you to help us chart a course to transform a trillion-dollar industry, and not afraid to put on a Product hat as you figure out what work needs to be done to meet our customers needs.

You'll be building both features at the core of our product offering, and helping to create tools that are helping us scale our business. Along the way, you'll be learning and understanding the complexities of the commercial insurance industry to help us build a unifying API to solve many of the problems in the space. We want you to be able to work full-stack, hopping between back-end API work, front-end work, and infrastructure as we create an incredibly robust platform that supports millions of dollars of insurance quotes.

This is a junior to senior level role, were open to candidates with varying experience levels, but would prefer those with at least 1 year of professional experience!

What you bring

  • Full-stack or backend engineering experience.
  • Experience with any (not all) of the following: JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, Angular, Prisma, PostgreSQL, OpenAPI, building APIs, managing external API integrations.
  • Curiosity and enthusiasm for learning new skills on the job!
  • Passion for building things from the ground up.
