The role

As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will define and execute our enterprise sales motion. You will report to and collaborate with Duncan (Herald's co-founder and Chief Revenue Officer) to win our most important strategic partnerships.

You will work with business and technology executives at the largest businesses in the insurance industry to uncover how Herald can support their digitization initiatives. Along the way, you will help define, codify, measure, and improve our enterprise sales motion.

Within Herald, you'll serve as a critical source of user feedback and will help shape the product and improve our customer experiences. You'll work cross-functionally with our product, customer success, and engineering teams to ensure we delivery the product and experiences that will allow our customers to thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of the commercial and technical needs of our enterprise partners.
  • Define and manage a multi-stakeholder sales process while driving towards close.
  • Create materials to support enterprise sales and key partnerships.
  • Collaborate closely with co-founders on enterprise sales and partnership efforts.
  • Define and track key metics and use insights to improve sales effectiveness.
  • Attend key industry events and build strong industry relationships.
  • Find creative ways around roadblocks and look for ways to accelerate Heralds sales process.

What you bring

  • 4+ years experience in a customer or client-facing role, such as sales, partnerships, support, or consulting.
  • 1+ years experience in the insurance or insurtech industries.
  • Demonstrated track record of solving new and ambiguous problems with creative solutions.
  • Ability to engage with senior leaders at potential customers and partners with curiosity, empathy, confidence and persistence.
  • Highly collaborative approach to problem solving and comfort working in a team environment.
  • Willingness to engage in and learn technical details. Experience selling or teaching technical product a plus.
  • Strong project management skillset and experience managing multi-stakeholder processes.
  • Strong written, visual, and spoken communication skills across audiences
  • A curiosity and affinity for learning and growth
