Frequently Asked Questions:

1. Do I have to have previous experience recruiting?

No. We believe strong communicators who value inclusion and representation of women in tech leadership can thrive in this role. While it is not a requirement, we see crossover skills from backgrounds in community management, journalism, sales and business development, editorial event production, and teaching.

2. Does Lady Bird Talent only work with women?

Our mission is to connect 1,000 women to tech leadership roles, but we believe allies are an important part of that journey. We have wonderful working relationships with non-binary and male identifying candidates and hiring partners, too. Anyone who is interested in fostering growth for women in tech leadership is encouraged to apply.

3. Is there potential for this role to become permanent at the end of the contract?

Potentially! We are seeking support that helps us successfully connect more women to employment opportunities and consequently improve the health of our business.

4. Do I need to be in the U.S?

No, but most of our partners and candidates work on EST, CST, and PST. We believe working during those time zones business hours will likely make you more successful. Fluency in English is required. We are unable to offer visa support at this time, so there is no potential to become an employee after the contract at this time if you are not authorized to work in the U.S.

5. Do I have to invoice weekly?

You can choose the frequency that you invoice Lady Bird Talent, but you will track hours weekly.

6. Are there specific hours that I have to work?

No, as an independent contractor, you can set the hours that work best for you. We have recommendations for times that candidates are the most responsive which will help you hit your targets and earn bonuses, but ultimately the choice is yours.

7. Do you offer insurance and other benefits?

At this time, Lady Bird Talent does not offer insurance or retirement benefits. We are working toward being able to offer these benefits in the future for our W-2 employees, but 2023 is the earliest we feasibly see that as a possibility.

8. I am a full-time caretaker. Can I still do this job?

Yes, our community is rich with caregivers and we see a lot of value in your perspective! Please keep in mind, we are looking for 20 hours of focused work per week at a minimum. If that isnt a fit for you and your dependents' schedules at this time, please reach out to see if we can find a workaround.
