Position Title: Regional Director of Human Capital (Southeast Asia)

Position Summary:
Under the general guidance of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts operational standards and governance framework, the Regional Director of Human Capital (Southeast Asia) supports the Vice President / Head – Regional Hotel Operations (Southeast Asia) in overseeing end-to-end Human Capital operations across the assigned hotel portfolio.
The role provides strategic and operational Human Capital leadership to ensure consistent application of recruitment standards, employment governance, policy interpretation, and people management practices across the region, while partnering closely with hotel leadership teams to support operational excellence and sustainable talent development.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Talent Acquisition
1. Source and support the recruitment of key leadership and critical positions for pre-opening hotels in accordance with approved manpower plans and timelines.
2. Support hotel recruitment for Manager-level positions and above upon request, by providing internal talent options, succession insights, and relevant candidate information.
3. Coach and guide hotel Human Capital teams on optimizing recruitment strategies, systems, and available regional or corporate sourcing support.
4. Build, maintain, and manage a pipeline of management-level candidates for future regional and hotel requirements.
5. Ensure consistent application of recruitment policies, approval matrices, and hiring guidelines through coaching and advisory support to recruiters and hiring managers.
6. Create, maintain, and administer both internal and external talent pools to support succession planning and workforce continuity.
2. Employment Terms & Governance
1. Oversee and ensure consistent application of approval matrix guidelines for the hiring of Managers and Directors across the hotel portfolio.
2. Draft, review, and provide guidance on employment contracts and related documentation to ensure consistency, compliance, and protection of Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts interests.
3. Provide regular feedback to the Vice President / Head – Regional Hotel Operations (Southeast Asia) on recurring employment or people-related issues, with recommendations for improvement or alignment at regional or group level.
4. Coordinate and schedule orientation and onboarding programmes for hotel Senior Management to ensure effective integration and alignment with brand culture and operating standards.
3. Human Capital Policies & Administration Support
1. Serve as the primary regional point of contact for hotel queries related to Human Capital policies, interpretation, and application within the assigned region.
2. Support the Vice President / Head – Regional Hotel Operations (Southeast Asia) in overseeing Human Capital business partner support for the assigned hotel portfolio.
3. Guide and advise Hotel Heads of Human Capital and relevant hotel associates on people-related matters, initiatives, and operational challenges as required.
4. Provide input and recommendations on talent management, workforce planning, and organizational development matters for regional consideration.
5. Prepare and submit regular and ad-hoc Human Capital reports as required by regional or corporate stakeholders.
6. Collaborate closely with Hotel Heads of Human Capital to ensure consistent Human Capital operational standards, processes, and best practices are maintained across all hotels in the region.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors Degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Cluster or Regional Human Capital role within international luxury hotel operations.
- Hands-on experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and Human Capital / HRIS databases.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken).
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Good health, professional maturity, pleasant personality, and well-groomed appearance in line with hospitality leadership standards.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact effectively with associates, hotel leadership, corporate stakeholders, and guests.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively in a fast-paced, multi-property environment.
