About the job Medical Director/Family Medicine Physician (part-time)
Lead with Purpose. Practice with Intention. Redefine Primary Care.
At Zoe Primary Care, we believe healthcare should go deeper. Our approach is rooted in Lifestyle Medicine, focusing on identifying and addressing the root causes of illness—not just managing symptoms. We partner closely with our patients to create personalized, sustainable care plans that reflect their unique lives, goals, and challenges.
We are seeking a Part-Time Family Medicine Physician who is energized by both patient care and clinical leadership—someone who wants to make a meaningful impact not only on patients, but on the team delivering that care.
Why This Role Is Different
This is not your typical primary care position. It's a flexible, part-time leadership role designed around the right physician.
- Design your own schedule – truly flexible structure
- Blend clinical care (80%) with leadership and mentorship (20%)
- Be a present, accessible clinical partner—supporting your team in real time, not from afar
- Shape workflows, guide clinical decisions, and influence the evolution of a growing practice
Whether you prefer being onsite daily, every other day, or offering a mix of in-person and remote support, we'll build the role around your strengths and availability.
Your Role
- Provide high-quality, relationship-centered care to your own panel of patients
- Support and collaborate with a team of three APPs, including a Lead FNP
- Serve as a go-to resource for complex cases and clinical guidance
- Offer real-time consultation (in-person and/or by phone) to enhance team confidence and patient outcomes
- Provide oversight and performance evaluations for the Lead APP
- Help refine clinical workflows and contribute to practice growth
Who You Are
- Board-certified/eligible Family Medicine Physician (MD/DO)
- Experienced in primary care
- Passionate about Lifestyle Medicine and whole-person care
- A natural mentor and collaborator who enjoys supporting APPs
- Flexible, self-directed, and team-oriented
- A strong communicator who values connection, education, and trust
- Warm, engaging, and committed to continuous growth
What We Offer
- True flexibility – we'll design a schedule that works for you
- A meaningful clinical leadership opportunity without full-time administrative burden
- The ability to shape and influence a growing practice
- Competitive compensation aligned with your role and structure
- A supportive, mission-driven team that values your voice
Why Zoe Primary Care?
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where you can practice medicine the way it was meant to be—thoughtful, patient-centered, and collaborative—while also mentoring others and helping build something special.
If you're ready to lead, collaborate, and practice with purpose, we'd love to connect.
About Zoe Primary Care
At Zoe Primary Care, the name Zoe—a Greek word meaning abundant life—guides everything we do. For over a decade, our umbrella practice, ZoeRVA Health, supported the Richmond community through counseling and psychiatry, grounded in the belief that true health connects both mind and body. Building on that foundation, we started Zoe Primary Care, designed to help patients not just manage illness, but truly thrive.
Our approach is rooted in Lifestyle Medicine, focusing on identifying and addressing the root causes of health concerns rather than simply treating symptoms. We partner with patients to create personalized care plans that reflect their unique strengths, challenges, and goals.
At Zoe Primary Care, we recognize that health is shaped by many factors—stress, sleep, movement, nutrition, relationships, and emotional well-being. That's why our care is comprehensive, intentional, and deeply personal.
Zoe Primary Care is therapy for your whole self—because abundant life starts with whole-person health.
