About the job Physician - LECOM - Gastroenterologist

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology services and work collaboratively with primary care physicians, surgeons, hospitalists, advanced practice providers, and other specialists to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a broad range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology consultations.
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including EGD and colonoscopy.
- Perform advanced endoscopic procedures consistent with training, experience, and privileges.
- ERCP experience is preferred, with opportunity to participate in and expand an advanced endoscopy program.
- Collaborate with surgeons, hospitalists, primary care providers, and other specialists in the management of complex patients.
- Participate in hospital consultation and call responsibilities as assigned.
- Provide timely documentation, communication, and follow-up for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical initiatives.
- Contribute to the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other learners as appropriate.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency.
- Completion of an accredited Gastroenterology fellowship.
- Board certified or board eligible in Gastroenterology.
- Eligible for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
- Eligible for hospital and procedural privileges.
- ERCP training and experience preferred.
- Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
