Our client in the media space is looking for a CHRO to coordinate our people operations across Africa - leading strategy formulation, program development and implementation in core areas such as talent acquisition and retention, performance management, and a strong collaborative and fun culture. This role would require a combination of strategic, transformational, operational, and tactical leadership to ensure that our goals and objectives as a company are met. This is a great role for someone who is a self starter and thrives in a fast-paced culture, is accountable, and also really friendly and adept at building and maintaining relationships across all levels and with diverse stakeholders.

Main Job Duties & Responsibilities

HR

Design, develop, and continuously improve HR policies, programs and processes, ensuring that they effectively support Companys mission, vision, values, and overall business objectives. Guide Senior Management and the HR teams in their interpretation and implementation.

Support workforce planning and talent acquisition, establish effective sourcing and pipeline building approaches, design talent acquisition strategies that help to ensure that employees with the right skills, experience and attitude are hired in all positions.

Articulate and amplify values, culture, and goals within the organization.

Ensure how the HR teams are managing employee life cycle processes from entry and onboarding to exit is effective for an overall positive employee experience.

Work with the HR teams to understand market trends, compensation and benefits in their countries to ensure Companys total rewards are competitive, fair, and motivating to attract, reward and retain talent.

Ensure performance management systems are effective in helping employees to meet company goals and objectives, that KPIs are well tracked, and that performance is in alignment with expectations. Provide coaching and support to HR teams and senior managers on driving high performing and engaged teams.

Source learning & development resources to close skill gaps. Design appropriate interventions, working with external training providers to set up employee training as well as building internal training programs where appropriate.

Partner with the HR teams to monitor the "company" of employees and design initiatives that help to improve engagement and buy in.

Design employer branding initiatives that help to position Company as a company of choice, both internally and externally.

Partner with the HR teams to have a good understanding of our employee population. Support in the tracking and reporting of relevant people metrics and insights that drive process improvement and support high-quality decision making across the company.

Gather information, diagnose problems, provide solutions, and offer objective assistance and guidance on a range of people related matters. Take pre-emptive action where employee relations risks arise.

Regularly audit the HR teams to ensure due diligence with legal requirements, and that employee and company records and information are always accurate and up to date.

Serve as an advocate for the company, promoting our values and culture in conversations with candidates, employees, and other stakeholders and partners.

Hands-on recruitment at the international level and support administratively with work visa applications and other requirements. Support with new hire onboarding for senior management staff. You may also have to provide hands-on HR support for new offices that do not yet have dedicated HR support.

Admin

Work closely with the Admin Managers to improve the efficiency of our admin operations in all markets.

Support Admin Managers in ensuring that all of our teams have adequate resources to perform their functions effectively.

Provide guidance on best practice procurement processes and vendor selection and management to ensure best value and cost savings for the company.

Ensure Company security guidelines are followed with regards to people, information, and physical and electronic assets security.

Partner with Admin Managers to ensure health and safety procedures are regularly updated and adhered to and that compliance risks are pre-empted and well managed.

Regularly audit Admin Managers to ensure correct and transparent record keeping of admin expenditure and office and employee assets.

Work with the Admin Managers to ensure they always create a great visitor experience - the handling of guests should follow a thoughtful and well managed process that reflects positively on the company.

Support with infrastructure planning and changes such as office moves. Provide guidance on general administrative topics such as travel planning, expatriate relocations, event and hospitality planning.

Profile Description

Minimum 5 years professional experience in HR Management and HR business partnering - a strong understanding of core areas of HR is essential

HR management experience in a similar industry - media/marketing or else tech/ startup

HR management experience in at least one country where Company has operations - Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Côte dIvoire, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa

Bachelors degree in HR, Business Administration, Psychology, Communication, or other related discipline

Has been responsible for 2 or more HR reports

Relationship building and stakeholder management at a senior level

Great project management skills and the ability to manage multiple demands and deadlines

A natural problem solver, self starter and self motivated

Superior interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills

Proficient with Google workspace and experience with HRIS, payroll, applicant tracking/recruitment systems and other HR tools

Ability to use data to provide actionable insights
