Job Summary:

Our client is seeking a seasoned Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) expert to advise on the strategic development and launch of our SBL product. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in SBL product development, regulatory compliance, and operational management in both regional and global contexts.

Professional Background & Experience:

- 10+ years of experience in securities services, specifically in SBL

- Background in global custodians, prime brokerage units, securities finance divisions, or major regional banks with developed SBL offerings

- Proven experience launching or enhancing SBL programs at reputable institutions

- Strong understanding of SBL product structures, collateral management, and counterparty risk mitigation

Technical Expertise:

- Deep knowledge of regulatory frameworks for SBL in the GCC region (KSA's CMA regulations) and international best practices (ISLA standards)

- Familiarity with operational and settlement mechanisms, including CSDs and securities lending platforms

- Understanding of SBL product structures, collateral management practices, and counterparty risk mitigation

Market Knowledge:

- Insight into local, regional, and global demand dynamics for SBL

- Strong awareness of institutional investor behaviors, hedge fund practices, and brokerage firms' usage of SBL

- Extensive network among institutional investors, hedge funds, prime brokers, custodians, and regulators

Key Responsibilities:

1. Advise on strategic development and launch plans for SBL products

2. Design product frameworks, operational models, and collateral management processes

3. Guide on regulatory licensing, compliance, and interactions with regulators

4. Define technology infrastructure requirements

5. Provide market intelligence and benchmark analysis

6. Train internal teams on SBL operations, risks, compliance, and best practices

Skills & Qualifications:

- Technical Skills:

- Deep expertise in securities finance, collateral management systems, and trading platforms

- Familiarity with ISDA, GMRA, GMSLA, and similar contractual frameworks

- Proficiency in risk management and compliance frameworks specific to SBL

- Soft Skills:

- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

- Ability to present complex financial concepts clearly

- Demonstrated leadership capabilities
