  • Bachelors degree in engineering Preferably in Mechanical, Civil or Naval.
  • 13 years experience with proven offshore operations experience.
  • Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Excellent negotiation and decision making skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Superior knowledge of offshore operations, personnel & equipment.

Role Purpose

  • Jobs at this level are ultimately responsible for the allocation of offshore resources, typically on larger projects, to ensure that offshore construction/ activities  meet all client contractual requirements in the most cost effective and efficient manner. Primarily involved in planning, co-ordinations and monitoring offshore activities onshore in conjunction with all parties.

Accountabilities

    • Direct operations of The Organization's owned and hired vessels on a daily basis.
    • Finalize allocation/assignment plan of vessels and supervisory staff.
    • Finalize the requirement of operation engineers and field engineers (in liaison with Offshore Support Director) to cover the work load peaks.
    • Attend Constructability Review meetings.
    • Ensure projects are operated within the budget/commercial handover documents.
    • Provide adequate resources and expertise on site to ensure the effective supervision, monitoring, and control of the work being undertaken.
    • Participate in a formal review of the project with relevant parties, on completion, to identify opportunities for learning and development.
    • Establish and maintain good relations with clients, partners, and local authorities while safeguarding and promoting The Organization's interests.
    • Provide commercial/technical input for the Estimation team at the estimation stage, when requested, ensuring adequate provision is made for proposed activities.
    • Guide and lead the Heads of Offshore Operation and Operation Engineers.
    • Keep abreast of industry developments and recommend the implementation of technological advances to enhance The Organization's capabilities.
    • Liaise with the Offshore Welding Engineer to upgrade the capabilities of the offshore welding school, enhance the welders qualifications, and assist in resolving all welding technical problems affecting the progress of offshore projects.
