Working relationships

  • Work closely with Field Engineer & Chief Mechanic
  • Report daily to the Operations Engineer in charge of the project
  • Interact with the management, client, subcontractors, vendors and project teams as and when required

Operating Environment

  • The role incumbent will primarily work offshore in the Arabian Gulf, Western India and South East Asia

Job Purpose

  • In-charge of general administration and overall supervision of fabrication and hook-up activities in accordance with company regulations and client/contractual requirements during projects. Responsible for ensuring the safety of all personnel and equipment on board the barge

Principal Accountabilities

  • Supervises and directs the activities of assigned personnel in the Fabrication Section
  • Performs supervisory function at the level established by Management
  • Receives work orders and determines priorities based on work schedules and commitments, obtains appropriate materials, special tools and equipment as required, assign craftsman to the various jobs and provides necessary technical instructions
  • Checks daily the work progress and inspects completed work to ensure conformity with crafts standard
  • Inspects work performed by contractors for compliance with established specifications and standards
  • Arranges for and ensure that tools, equipment and other materials are available at all times
  • Take necessary action to establish a safe working environment
  • Report detailed job activities to Barge Superintendent on daily basis
  • Compliance in accordance with Company codes and HSE standards

Educational Qualifications & Certifications

Relevant Experience

  • Secondary School Certificate with a discipline-specific Technical qualification, or equivalent
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry

Competencies

  • Good standard of written and spoken English
  • All offshore safety training requirements
