What You Bring to the Table:
We are seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic I focused on maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting under supervision in a metal recycling facility. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; technical training or certification is a plus. You should have basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools, the ability to work safely with hand tools and machinery, and good communication and attention to detail. Welding, recycling or heavy-industrial experience, and familiarity with hydraulics or basic electrical troubleshooting are helpful but not required. A valid driver's license is required, and candidates must pass a drug screen and physical. This is a day-shift role in Lost Hills, CA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior mechanics with maintenance and repairs on industrial recycling equipment, including conveyors, shredders, pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, cranes, hoists, and hydraulic systems
- Perform preventive maintenance such as checking fluid levels, lubricating components, inspecting guards and safety devices, and replacing filters, belts, hoses, and fittings
- Support disassembly and reassembly of machinery for repair or replacement of worn parts such as bearings, couplings, seals, rollers, and wear liners
- Assist with equipment inspections to identify leaks, worn parts, misalignment, unusual noise or vibration, and report findings to a supervisor
- Follow all safety rules, including PPE and lockout/tagout, and keep the work area and tools clean and orderly
- Participate in on-the-job training and learn to read technical manuals, schematics, and work orders
