Overview

The Associate Business Manager will be exposed to our different business lines (Publications, Scientific Communications, Promotional) providing you with a solid foundation of medical communication finances. In this role, you will be responsible for managing fee only transactions and internal business projects. The Associate BM will work closely with Business Managers and assist with any tasks assigned. The person in this position is organized, attentive, and has excellent communication skills. 

Cadent Medical Communications specializes in high science, high touch peer to peer medical communications. Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage fee only transactions such as ViPro, GoldStar, and CVENT
  • Open, monitor, and close New Business / Non-Charge projects and effectively communicate project numbers to teams as appropriate
  • Manage freelancer process and contracts along side Scientific SVP
  • Participate in monthly internal finance meetings between lead Business Manager and Account Services and provide any assistance and support
  • Coordinate new vendor setup in the system 
  • Open purchase orders required for vendor payment
  • Assist Business Managers in order to collect and enter estimates in the finance system 
  • Assist Business Manager with any Fee and/or Expense transfers as needed
  • Ad hoc reporting and miscellaneous duties as required

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree in accounting or finance
  • 0-2 years’ experience in healthcare communications/agency preferred (Med Comms, PR, or Advertising)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite – Basic Excel skills required
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Can effectively manage time, multi-task, and handle a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
