Advanced Research Assistant - Flow Cytometry

About the role

• You will be working as part of an established team of flow cytometry specialists providing flow cytometric cell analysis as well as sorting services to our researchers.
• As an Advanced Research Assistant, you will be responsible for:
• Day-to-day operation and maintenance of flow cytometers.
• Training and supporting other members of staff/researchers in the use of the equipment.
• Providing technical support for the facility
• Carrying out essential quality control procedures and troubleshooting.

About you

• To excel in this role, you should have the following:
• BSc in Biological Sciences with 1-3 years of relevant laboratory experience
• Practical experience working with cell analysers and sorters
• Practical experience with maintaining and troubleshooting flow cytometers
• Detailed knowledge of flow cytometry applications with a focus on technical expertise
• Long-term interest in instrumentation and biological sciences
• Experience with using flow cytometry data analysis software (eg. FCS Express, Flowjo etc.)
• Experience with training others in the use of flow cytometer
• A working knowledge of cytometric protocols or other laboratory techniques (immunology) with an emphasis on instrumentation
