About the role

Collaborating closely with our wet lab scientists, you will provide essential bioinformatics support for gene editing initiatives. From informing experiment design to analysing CRISPR/Cas9 experiments and large-scale single-cell expression quantitative trait locus (eQTL) projects, you will be at the forefront of innovative research.

As part of our team, you will have the opportunity to:

Collaborate with dynamic computational groups and software developers to create and implement novel bioinformatics tools

Supervise and manage junior staff, fostering an environment of growth and achievement

Project manage bioinformatic tasks, establishing timelines, allocating tasks and ensuring project success

Work with key stakeholders and faculty to contribute to strategic decisions and publications

About you

Essential Skills

Technical experience:

  • MSc in Bioinformatics or a Biology-related discipline plus bioinformatic experience in a research or commercial environment
  • Experience in developing computational pipelines and the use and management of relational databases
  • Experience in one of the following: design and analysis of CRISPR-screening experiments, variant calling or analysing omic datasets
  • Proficiency in scripting for bespoke analysis using Python, R, Perl or similar
