We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

In conjunction with the management team contribute to and deliver a comprehensive Addictions Service in partnership with Primary Care and Mental Health practitioners as part of a multi-disciplinary team within the prison setting and to deliver a comprehensive blood borne virus service.

To operate as part of an extensive multi-disciplinary team, providing the role of an addiction Nurse to undertake assessments, provide and evaluate a range of health interventions, to meet prisoner healthcare needs and contribute to the wider continuous development of prison healthcare services.

Demonstrate knowledge, skills and understanding of addiction & BBV issues and treatment options to provide clinical guidance to all staff on matters relating to health and wellbeing.

The post holder carries continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care and the setting of standards of care within a secure environment.
