As the Syneos Health Commercial VP, Business Development, you will identify, grow, and expand Syneos Health business development opportunities by developing and leveraging relationships with key decision-makers within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and medical device companies. You are competitive, proactive, and passionate about business growth and development. You need the ability to think strategically about complex client organizations of all sizes and understand how to unlock growth opportunities in those accounts through strong prospecting skills coupled with a deep interest, expertise, and industry network. You will think about how we can connect Syneos' unique set of integrated offerings across our Commercial Business to solve challenges for our clients. The ability to network and maximize the value of your network to grow business will be valuable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Pipeline Opportunity Generation: Generate new business by opening doors for our subject matter experts and qualifying leads.
  • Growth: Convert identified opportunities into business and expand the client base.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of Business Development professionals across the Asia region, providing vision and direction for identifying and qualifying leads.
  • Collaboration: Work with business leads and cross-functional commercial partners to achieve and maintain knowledge of current and future offerings, solutions, intellectual property, etc.
  • Relationship Management: Maintain strong, productive relationships with Commercial Leadership to understand current business footprint and client map.
  • Teamwork: Encourage and demonstrate unity behind team and Commercial Business decision-making.
  • Presentation Skills: Present in small and large, internal and external groups, managing well-planned meetings with efficiency.
  • Industry Thought Leadership: Position yourself as an industry thought leader, actively networking to develop brand awareness and solutions to challenges.
  • Solution Development: Lead efforts to develop solutions and articulate key points-of-view – internally and externally – relative to strategic alternatives, client industries, and issues. Will also participate and provide strategic insights on Governance Committees.
  • Problem Identification: Demonstrate the capacity to identify key elements of an issue or problem and articulate a wide range of client opportunities and potential implications.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science-related field.
  • 15+ years of related BD and leadership experience, plus extensive knowledge within the Commercial Business of Biopharmaceuticals or related industry.
  • 12+ years of supervisory experience.
  • Proven sales experience.
  • Must have recent Pharma Launch experience (within the last 5 years).
  • Confident and persuasive communicator and collaborator.
  • Ability to build a sales pipeline individually and through a team you manage.
  • High level of enthusiasm, passion, natural competitiveness, and strong desire to succeed.
  • Understanding of therapeutic categories/disease states.
  • Superior presentation, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience developing and executing successful sales and prospecting strategies.
  • Strategic mindset and thought leadership.
  • Excellent perception and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while communicating to Commercial leadership in real time.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and detail oriented.
