Job Responsibilities

  • Must fully comply and abide by the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) of the company.

  • Follow proper payroll and uniform procedures.

  • Handle all monies and keep a bank float from the hotel.

  • Requisition pick up, verify, and put away all requisitions for liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft

    drink, and food items used for the bar areas.

  • Offer guests an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience conforming to

    Taj Hotels standards of excellence for quality, professionalism and friendliness.

  • Stock the bar areas with liquor, wine, beer, juices, soft drinks, glassware, and

    condiments.

  • Develop a complete working knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients and

    preparation.

  • Develop a complete working knowledge of all products served by the bar, i.e. liquors,

    wines, beers, ports, armagnacs, eau de views, cognacs, specialty drinks, etc.

  • Understand the menu and the daily specials as well as what is not available.

  • Check and recheck the bar during service.

  • Ensure that all details of service as performed properly and that every guest receives

    the highest quality of service.

  • Utilize the hotels computer system ringing up sales, printing checks, closing checks and

    completing closing readings.

  • Ensure proper pouring, mixing, blending, etc. of drinks.

  • Service all drinks for service bar area, guests, and the bar area.

  • Ensure proper service of all food items to bar guests.

  • Keep the bar area neat and tidy at all times, clearing dishes and glassware whenever

    possible.

  • Ensure that the bar is stocked and all side opening and closing duties are completed.

  • Greet each guest promptly, courteously, and graciously with eye contact, a smile, and

    good posture.

  • Wipe down bar area.

  • Check Cocktail Shakers Making sure they are clean.

  • Make sure the filters of the Glass washer are check daily.

  • Clean up pourers at the end of the night.

  • Keep the par per Standard.

  • Cover liquor bottles with provided caps at the end of the night.

  • Answer telephones according to Taj Hotels standards and take reservations or provide

    information regarding the lounge or any other hotel service.

  • Recognize and address potentially intoxicated, disruptive, or undesirable guests.

  • Report any accident immediately, no matter how minor, to a manager.

  • Handle a guest walk-out.

  • Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass, and silver.

  • Ascertain a guests satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise, informing a

    manager of the problem and how it was resolved.

  • Recognize regular guests and to greet them by their name.

  • Use guest names for all guests as guest name becomes known.

  • Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.

  • Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.

  • Ability to work with POS touch system. Must be organized, efficient, possess good communication skills and is service minded.
