Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
About the job Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
The EMT-B:
- functions in uncommon situations;
- has a basic understanding of stress response and methods to ensure personal well-being;
- has an understanding of body substance isolation;
- understands basic medical-legal principles;
- functions within the scope of care as defined by state, regional and local regulatory agencies;
- complies with regulations on the handling of the deceased, notifies authorities and arranges for
- protection of property and evidence at the scene.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- general education degree (GED) required
- 35 to 48 years old
- 5 years experience in Paramedic
- Current EMT certification/license in the state of practice
- Current CPR certification
- Must possess a valid driver's license in the state of practice
- 1 year of experience in an emergency care setting preferrred
- Ability to bend, pull, push, and lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Demonstrated ability to implement clinical care in accordance with outlined policies and procedures
- Ability to exercise sound judgment while working in a stressful environment
