Job Openings Junior Slurry Engineer

About the job Junior Slurry Engineer

We are looking for a Junior Slurry Engineer with 1–5 years of field experience in mud engineering, drilling fluids, or slurry systems to support a remote industrial waste slurrification & reinjection project in Saudi Arabia.

Position Overview: This is a field-based operational role supporting slurry preparation, monitoring, mixing, conditioning, and low-pressure transfer through tank systems up to the pre-injection stage. The role focuses on maintaining slurry targets (density, solids loading, rheology, and suspension stability), monitoring equipment performance around shakers/grinders/tanks, and escalating abnormalities.

Responsibilities:

  • Support slurry preparation activities: mixing, dilution, circulation, conditioning, and tank sequencing across active/agitated and pre-injection tanks.
  • Conduct and record routine checks and observations (as per site procedure): density, viscosity / gel behavior, solids content estimate / trend indicators, suspension / settling behavior.
  • Support tank-to-tank transfers and maintain stable low-pressure flow through hoses/lines/transfer pumps.
  • Observe shaker performance and report poor separation, unusual solids carryover, screen issues, or process abnormalities.
  • Support grinder integration activities (where used) and report throughput limitations or abnormal solids behavior (settling, plugging risk, poor grind performance).
  • Support chemical handling and addition as instructed by the Field Slurry Engineer; maintain safe handling discipline and dosing records (chemicals may include dispersants, surfactants, biocides, scavengers, as approved).
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, sampling records, tank checks, and shift handover notes.
  • Maintain strong housekeeping and safety discipline around tanks, rotating equipment, lines/hoses, and solids-handling equipment.
  • Comply with company procedures, client requirements, and all site HSE rules.

Qualifications:

  • Technical diploma or engineering degree (petroleum /chemical/ mechanical/process or related).
  • Hands-on-field experience of 1–5 years in mud engineering, drilling fluids, slurry handling, or similar fluid-process operations.
  • Practical knowledge of shale shakers and tank-based mixing /agitation/recirculation.
  • Exposure to slurry injection / cuttings reinjection / waste handling / solids-control operations.
  • Comfortable working at a remote isolated land site in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong safety mindset and field discipline.
