Senior Specialist, CAD Applications II

One of our prestigious clients in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is looking to hire a Senior Specialist CAD Applications II.

Job Purpose:

This job role entails ensuring that the position holder is responsible for the smooth functioning of CAD applications used by engineering design departments for detailed and production design.

Effective administration of CAD applications, such as AVEVA Marine Hull Design and AVEVA E3D Design, is necessary for this position. This includes setup, configuration, customization, and user assistance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Implementation, configuration, and customization of Computer-Aided Design & Drafting (CADD) & Engineering software.
• Implementation and maintenance of integration between CADD systems, ERP systems, and Plant systems.
• Development and implementation of design procedures for modeling, drawing development, cataloging, administration, and other related tasks.
• Provision of internal training and day-to-day support to users.
• Support for IT in the administration and maintenance of 3D modeling projects.
• Development of macros, programs, and forms (PML, C#) for the automation of routine tasks (administration, drafting, modeling).
• Support for import/export between various design software.
• Extraction of various reports, MTOs, review files, clash reports, etc.
• Management and optimization of software licenses usage.
• Development of visualizations for presentation purposes from the model.
• Coordination with internal departments.
• Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Quality Assurance (HS&QA) policies and procedures as applicable.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable information security policies and procedures.

Who we are looking for:

• Bachelors Degree in any Engineering discipline, IT, or equivalent.
• At least 9-15 years of experience in any engineering company as a system administrator or CADD Application specialist on engineering software systems.
• Preference will be given to those who have worked in ship and rig building yards, major construction yards, EPC contractors, and/or Consultant Companies using AVEVA 3D modeling software.
• Preferred Any additional certification/training on 3D CAD tools and system administration.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Design & Engineering software used for Shipbuilding & Rig building such as AVEVA Hull Design, Initial Design, E3D Design, E3DSD, AVEVA Engineering, AVEVA P&ID, AVEVA NET, AVEVA ERM, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD.
• Knowledge & experience in Administration, Configuration, Cats & Specs for 3D modeling projects.
• Knowledge & experience in Customization using PML, C/C++, VB, etc.
• Knowledge of ERP systems & Plant systems and their interfacing with CADD systems.
• Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, listening, oral, and written.
• Demonstrated high-order interpersonal skills and the ability to operate within a multinational environment.
• Demonstrated ability to influence and motivate others regarding continuous improvement.
• Proficiency in English (mandatory), Arabic or other languages (desirable).
