Job Overview
As the Shipyard Services Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of shipyard operations, ensuring efficient service delivery, customer satisfaction, and adherence to industry standards. You will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with various departments to achieve operational excellence and drive business growth.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for shipyard services, including repairs, maintenance, refits, and conversions. Ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of projects while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs, providing technical advice, and addressing any concerns or inquiries. Build and maintain strong client relationships to foster repeat business and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Lead and motivate a team of shipyard personnel, including engineers, technicians, project managers, and support staff. Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities to ensure a high-performing and cohesive team.
• Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, materials, and budget, to optimize productivity and meet project deadlines. Implement efficient workflows and processes to streamline operations and minimize waste.
• Establish and maintain quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Prioritize the health, safety, and environmental sustainability of shipyard operations. Implement and enforce safety protocols, risk management practices, and environmental protection measures to ensure a safe and sustainable work environment.
• Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for shipyard operations. Monitor costs, revenues, and profitability, identifying opportunities for cost reduction and revenue enhancement.
• Oversee the negotiation, execution, and administration of contracts with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers. Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, terms, and conditions to mitigate risks and maximize project outcomes.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction. Identify innovative solutions, best practices, and new technologies to optimize shipyard operations and stay competitive in the industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field preferred, with additional certifications or training in shipyard services management being advantageous.

• Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent, essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
• Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one, demonstrating the ability to assess and certify service processes and personnel.
• Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations, with significant experience in shipyard services management roles. Bring along best practices and behaviors to enhance operations.
• Demonstrated experience working on projects adhering to top classification society standards/requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc.
• Strong leadership abilities with the capacity to lead and motivate teams toward achieving common service goals. Ability to mentor and develop junior staff.
