Job Overview

Our Client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manufacturing Supervisor to oversee manufacturing operations within our shipbuilding organization. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of manufacturing processes while upholding industry standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all manufacturing activities, including fabrication, assembly, and testing, to ensure compliance with project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards.
  • Act as a mentor to trainees in the manufacturing department, providing guidance, support, and technical expertise to facilitate their growth and development. Document trainee progress and provide feedback to aid in their professional advancement.
  • Utilize your certification as an assessor or readiness to obtain one to assess and certify manufacturing processes and personnel as per organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Leverage your experience working at prominent shipbuilding organizations to introduce and implement best practices in manufacturing operations. Share knowledge and insights to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
  • Ensure that all manufacturing activities adhere to top classification society standards and requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc. Maintain accurate documentation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, quality assurance, and project management to ensure seamless coordination and execution of manufacturing activities.
  • Effectively manage resources including manpower, materials, and equipment to optimize manufacturing processes and meet project deadlines.
  • Champion a culture of safety by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and risk mitigation measures across manufacturing operations. Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred, with additional certifications or training in manufacturing or production management being advantageous.
  2. Proficient English communication skills with a minimum IELTS band score of 7 or equivalent, essential for mentoring trainees and documenting their progress.
  3. Documented history of being a certified assessor or eligibility to become one, demonstrating the ability to assess and certify manufacturing processes and personnel.
  4. Proven track record of working at prominent shipbuilding organizations, with significant experience in manufacturing operations. Bring along best practices and behaviors to enhance operations.
  5. Demonstrated experience working on projects adhering to top classification society standards/requirements such as IACS, ABS, BV, DNV, LR, RINA, etc.
